It looks like my hanging basket cucumber experiment has ended. Over the past few days, a multitude of small dark bugs attacked the remaining plant. As you can see, it didn't survive. Our entire harvest from the hanging basket plants amounted to one cucumber. I don't think I'll try this again next year.

Did I ever tell you how I tried growing a tomato plant upside down in a plastic jug? It was a big failure...but it was still a fun time trying! LOL.
LOL I know your pain- This year I had pretty fair luck with my cucmbers- I planted them in what I call my squashbox- A 30" X 36" raised bed. I never had luck with squash in pots and Julie I planted a tomato upsode down this year in a "Topsy Turrvey"Planter- had great Cherry tomatoes come out of it- But I tried last year in 3 gallon containers with holes in the bottom- no luck, Fortunately I can reuse the containers to make what are called EarthTainer™ a self watering planter- I substitute 3 or 5 gallon buckets and follow the same instructions!
