Ornamental Sweet Potato Vine

We picked up a couple of sweet potato vines at the local nursery the other day. Marianne and I think that the vines, with their sharp contrast of dark purple and bright green leaves, look really cool. Now if they'll just grow in this heat.

Ornamental sweet potato vines are one of my faves! They don't grow as well here in Texas as they did in Louisiana...but they are still beautiful.

Oh cool! They are really pretty, and I do like the contrast between the colors

Hi there,
I love them as well. I planted 8 of them this past april. I live in hot Ridgecrest, CA. They grew over three feet long. The ones that were in indirect sun stayed really green. The ones that had more sun exposure got lighter from the intense sun and turned almost yellow but still managed to grow quite lovely.

It is amazing how location can make a difference. When I was in NYC this past June. They were planted all over manhattan but the color stayed the original beautiful intense chartreuse color. So I am assuming that the intense sun we get in desert would never allow them to stay that beautiful.
